Working Principle: A Step-by-Step Process

The entire plastic film washing line is intelligently controlled via a central electric control panel and cabinet. Each piece of advanced equipment is seamlessly connected using robust conveyor systems for a smooth, automated workflow.

  1. 1. Plastic Shredder Machine: Initial Size Reduction

    As long pieces of plastic film (like saran wrap) can easily tangle and clog conveyors and rotary-based machines, the crucial first step is to cut the film into smaller, manageable pieces using a powerful plastic shredder. The resulting plastic pieces from the shredder are typically around 1-5 inches, preparing them for further processing.

  2. 2. Plastic Granulator: Fine Granulation & Pre-Washing

    The plastic granulator (or crusher) further reduces the film into even smaller pieces, approximately 10-20mm in size. With water constantly injected into the cutting chamber, our wet granulation process also “pre-treats” and partially cleans the plastic film before it moves to the next stage, enhancing overall efficiency.

  3. 3. Friction Washer: Intensive Cleaning

    A high-power washing unit, our cold-water friction washer spins at nearly 1,000 rotations per minute. As the PP/PE film enters, pieces rub against each other at high speeds, effectively dislodging stubborn contamination. Simultaneously, any paper and cardboard present are broken down into fibers and removed. While one friction washer is standard, various plants have requested a secondary unit to ensure maximum cleanliness.

  4. 4. Sink-Float Separation Tank: Density-Based Separation

    Utilizing water as a medium, materials that float are separated from those that sink. In plastic film recycling, PP and PE films (being less dense than water) will float, while heavier contaminants like dirt, sand, glass, metals, and other plastics will sink. A screw conveyor at the bottom of the tank removes this contamination. Beyond separation, this apparatus serves a secondary function of further cleaning the plastic film.

  5. 5. Centrifugal Dewatering Machine: Initial Water Removal

    The first stage in the drying process, our centrifugal dewatering machine employs centrifugal force to remove a significant portion of water from the plastic film before it proceeds to thermal dryers. Since thermal dryers use heat (which consumes more energy), this pre-dewatering step is highly beneficial for reducing long-term operational costs.

  6. 6. Screw Press Dewatering Machine (Optional): Advanced Dewatering

    An optional, more advanced dewatering unit, the screw press machine removes water by squeezing the film under high pressure, rather than using centrifugal force. This highly efficient machine can potentially replace both the standard dewatering machine and the thermal dryers in certain configurations, offering a compact and effective drying solution.

  7. 7. Thermal Dryer + Cyclone Separator: Final Drying & Fines Removal

    The cleaned plastic film is vacuumed from the dewatering stage into the thermal dryer system. Here, it travels down a series of stainless steel tubes, mixing with hot air to dehydrate remaining moisture. The process culminates with a cyclone separator, which allows the film to mix with a fresh stream of cold air, preparing it for storage. The cyclone is also effective in removing fines and dust particles.

  8. 8. Product Silo: Clean Film Storage

    A dedicated storage tank (silo) holds the clean, dry pieces of plastic film, ready for the final transformation or for sale as high-quality flakes.

  9. 9. Plastic Pelletizing Machine: Creating Reusable Pellets

    The final, and arguably most crucial, step in plastic film recycling is processing the clean film into plastic pellets before it can be used in new product manufacturing. For this, we offer a specialized plastic film water-ring pelletizer system that produces uniform, high-quality round plastic pellets.
